Louis and Goldie Chester Religious School

From Kindergarten through B’nai Mitzvah and beyond, Temple Am David members can enjoy a rich diversity of learning opportunities through the Louis and Goldie Chester Religious School.

The Eunice Zeidman Program
Kindergarten & First grade
Sundays, 9:30am-12:00pm
In the “E-Z” Program, children learn the customs, holidays, and rituals of their Jewish heritage through arts & crafts, music, movement, roleplaying, cooking, storytelling, and more. Hebrew is introduced through games, songs, and stories. Even snack time is part of the curriculum as it offers an opportunity to learn and practice prayers. The E-Z Program is open to both members and non-members of Temple Am David.

Religious School
Children ages 7 – 13
Tuesdays, 4:00pm-6:00pm; Sundays, 9:30am-12:30pm
Designed with tremendous input from parents through a series of workshops, our religious school curriculum prepares children for their B’nai Mitzvah ceremony. Students develop the skills necessary to be life-long participants in the Jewish community while learning about our history as well as the holidays, rituals, and services. There is a heavy emphasis on Tefillah (prayer) so when Am David students graduate from our religious school, they are very familiar with the prayers and are comfortable on our bimah.
